Singleton Recipe: Broccoli Pasta

When I began asking for single-serve recipes, a friend recommended this to me. Her version had no quantities (basically, it was, "Take a bit of this and a dash of that and stir it up, etc.") so here is my version.

3/4 cup broccoli florets, fresh or frozen
1/2 cup elbow macaroni
1/2 tsp garlic paste OR 1/2 clove garlic, chopped
1 tbs olive oil
2 tsps grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
pepper

Get some boiling, salted water ready in a small saucepan. Parboil the broccoli, and remove it with a slotted spoon. Add the macaroni noodles and cook to al dente.
Just as the macaroni noodles are approaching done, start up a skillet with your garlic and olive oil, and simmer these together over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli and saute with the oil. Drain your macaroni and add it to the skillet, and also your 2 teaspoons of Parmesan, and pepper to taste. Serve immediately, with an extra sprinkle of parmesan for garnish.

My opinion: This recipe either needs added bacon (maybe even frying it in the bacon fat rather than oil), or it needs to have a full cheese sauce made, instead of just olive oil and cheese. I don't think I'd make this again as-is.
